Kenneth Schnur is a partner with over 20 years of experience.  Mr. Schnur represents clients on a broad variety of litigation matters, with a particular focus on commercial landlord-tenant disputes and estate litigation.

Mr. Schnur has extensive experience in handling both sides of estate litigation.  He has successfully upheld a number of wills and trusts, and has also successfully challenged a number of wills and trusts where abusive behavior was involved. 

In his real estate practice, Mr. Schnur represents national retailers in all aspects of their relations with landlords, and is experienced in both negotiating settlement of lease disputes and pursing litigation over lease-related disputes.

Mr. Schnur has served as an arbitrator in San Francisco Superior Court for over 15 years.  Other practice areas in which Mr. Schnur is active include bankruptcy receiverships, employment litigation, personal injury, and collections law.

EXAMPLES OF MR. SCHNUR'S RECENT EXPERIENCE INCLUDE

  • Representation of owners in disputes surrounding corporate dissolutions.
  • Representation of retail chain in landlord-tenant disputes.
  • Representation of non-family heirs in estate litigation resulting in obtaining nearly 50% of estate over $1,000,000 for the heirs, despite their exclusion from will.
  • Representation of employee discharged after suffering a nervous breakdown, settled for over $450,000.
  • Representation of groups on a pro-bono basis, including:
    • Assisting the Berkeley High School Crew Team in lease negotiations with the cities of Oakland and Berkeley for practice and storage facilities,
    • Served on Board of Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley, including position as president from 1997-1999, including representation of congregation in construction of new building, employment contract negotiation for rabbi, and leasing issues.
    • Lecturer regarding commercial leases.
