Melissa Sanders’ practice focuses on business transactional matters. Her experience includes drafting corporate acquisition agreements; drafting corporate buy-sell and shareholders agreements; analyzing leases for a national retail chain; working on real estate acquisitions and financings from $2 to $50 million; advising companies on compliance with federal and California securities law exemptions; assisting with obtaining California Lender’s Licenses; incorporating California and Delaware corporations; and forming LLCs and partnerships. In addition, Ms. Sanders has advised companies regarding a variety of issues that arise in the course of business, including trademark prosecution and defense and obtaining and enforcing security interests under the UCC and California law. Ms. Sanders also has worked on a variety of business and real estate litigation matters.
Ms. Sanders joined the firm as an associate in 2006. She attended UC Hastings, College of the Law, where she participated on the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review and received honorable mentions in her Moot Court class. During her summer breaks, Ms. Sanders completed internships with the international firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Rome, Italy, and with the Presiding Judge of the San Francisco Superior Court. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Sanders worked in real estate in Colorado.
