Carolyn M. Lee
Attorney at Law

Carolyn Lee’s practice has an emphasis in business and tax law. Her experience includes representing clients before the United States Tax Court, the California Franchise Tax Board, and the IRS, with particular emphasis on complex matters. Ms. Lee has participated in other complex business dispute representation including commercial real estate leases, intellectual property, and reinsurance.

Ms. Lee’s current practice builds on her previous experience as a business executive. Ms. Lee developed her interest in law while managing marketing and product development for major banks and insurance companies, where her responsibilities included negotiating contracts, arranging joint ventures, protecting brand assets, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ms. Lee recently earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. She graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate in Taxation with Distinction. Ms. Lee was awarded the 2007 Faculty Award for Academic Excellence in Taxation, earned recurring placement on the Dean’s List, and was selected for membership on the Moot Court Board. Ms. Lee received the Catherine Sherburne-Thompson Endowed Scholarship and the Professor James B. Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Ms. Lee is also a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
